2014 Cruise in Denmark
Another spectacular Cruise success!
The 2014 NAS Denmark Cruise attracted 80 participants of whom 32 had been on prior NAS cruises and eight had been on three or more! Participants included Post Captain Brown, members of NAS, SYC and each of the five Home Clubs, including three past commodores of DKY and GKSS and many guests (and potential new NAS members).
There were 17 vessels – nine owner-operated yachts (three US, two Swedish, two Danish, two British); seven chartered; and the ‘mother ship’, Loyal.
2014 was one of the warmest and driest summers in recent Danish history. We had two days of strong winds but otherwise the weather was almost perfect.
The NAS sponsors a Scandinavian cruise every three years. Past cruises have taken us throughout Scandinavian and Nordic waters:
2014 – Denmark Island Cruise around Fyn 2011 –Åland & Finnish Archipelago to Helsinki 2008 –Norway Fjord Cruise 2005 – Stockholm Archipelago Cruise 2003 – Helsinki to Mariehamn 2002 – Saltsjobaden to Kalmar to Gotland and ending in Sandhamn 1998 – Swedish Cruise 1996 – Finnish Cruise 1993 – Danish Cruise 1990 – Kalmar to Saltsjobaden 1988 – Coast of Norway ending in Marstrand 1986 – Kiel to Helsinki and back to Copenhagen 1983 – Baltic Cruise from Helsinki to Sandhamn
